Rules for ECFC Angler of the Month Contest *


•   The ECFC Angler of the Month Contest is a monthly competition in which all members of the ECFC and
     their family members (i.e. spouse and children) can participate for free. 

•   There is no need for registration, every member is automatically registered.

•   The competition starts at 12:00 AM of the 1st day of the month and ends at 11:59 pm of the last day of that
    month. 

•   Each month, there will be 4 eligible target species.  Every month the eligible species in the respective
    categories will change and the list of eligible fish for the upcoming month will be posted on the ECFC forums
    before the first day of that month. In the selection of eligible species, the Tournament Director will strive to
    find a good balance between inshore, nearshore and offshore species.

•    Pay-out:
      Species A   $ 20
      Species B   $ 20
      Species C   $ 10
      Species D   $ 10
   
•   The winner of the Species A category is the Angler of the Month

•   The size of the fish will be determined by "total length" of the fish, per DNR regulations
     (see   http://www.dnr.sc.gov/regs/pdf/freshfishing.pdf )

•   Prize money will be provided by the club (income from the monthly 50/50 raffle will go toward these
    prizes).

•   Tournament director will be in charge of the competition and will be in charge of rulings regarding eligibility,
     winners etc.  The ECFC Board of Directors will arbitrate and handle appeals when and where necessary.

•   In addition to the prize money, prize winners will also accrue competition points.  At the end of the year
    these  points will determine ECFC Angler of the Year and ECFC Youth Angler of the year.  To qualify as
    “youth angler”, the member must not be older than 16 on December 31.  The winners will receive a gift
    certificate to Haddrell’s Point.

•   All entries need to be posted on the ECFC forums.  The Forum Administrator will create dedicated links for
    the entries.  Only entrees that are posted using these dedicated links will be considered as entrees for this
    competition.  The entry needs to include when and where the qualifying fish has been caught as well as the
    length of the fish. 

•   While not required, including a picture of the catch is highly encouraged. If the posted report of a winning
     catch does not contain a picture of the fish, only 50% of price money will be awarded (if needed,
     the Forum Administrator can help/advice with the posting of pictures on the forums).

•   Professional guides cannot enter fish into the competition caught while fishing with clients.

*          The rules of the ECFC Angler of the Month Contest will be evaluated by the Tournament Director and
            ECFC Board of Directors on a regular base and may be adjusted when appropriate to encourage
            fairness of competition and club participation.
